Coast Pavement Services is seeking experienced Class A CDL drivers with a strong work ethic and that want to be a part of the Paving it Forward culture at Coast as part of its paving and construction teams. The Driver will tow a trailer as part of the work duties and will be required to load, secure, and unload equipment with or without help from others. Typical day would be to haul equipment to and from the job site at the beginning and end of the day and haul spoils and new asphalt to and from the job site and asphalt plant throughout the day.
Our operation is a local one with most of the work occurring during the day, Monday-Friday; very few, but some, nights and Saturday work. Days can vary in length from short to very long. We focus primarily on parking lots of commercial, office, industrial, and multi-family properties; not roads or highways.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the CDL Driver include, but are not limited to:
– Daily inspections of truck and trailer.
– Ability to load and secure equipment on the trailer.
– Experience in paving is a plus.
– Understanding of and willingness to abide by all safety protocols.
– Ability to complete the required paperwork; inspection report, driver’s log, etc.
– Maintain daily and weekly equipment maintenance (supported by in-house mechanics).
– Exhibit leadership, and communicate with crew and foreman.
– Ability to identify hazardous situations and potential problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
– Class A CDL, in good standing.
– Tanker endorsements a plus.
– Team leader with strong leadership skills.
– Works well under pressure.
– Productive team player and self-starter.
– At least three years of truck operation experience (paving experience would increase starting pay scale).
– Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.
– Be flexible on schedule with overtime, nights (rarely), and Saturdays as necessary
– Must have a strong work ethic.
– Ability to thrive in a team setting.
– Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors, and customers in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
– Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
